Clinical supervision for Waikato practice nurses
Toni Muller, the team's triage clinician and experienced mental health nurse, is offering clinical supervision to practice nurses.
Clinical supervision is a regular, dedicated space to discuss complex or challenging mental health cases, reflect on practice, and explore different approaches to difficult situations. It is not about performance management or responding to things going wrong — it is a confidential, supportive process focused on learning, growth, and providing the best possible care. Evidence suggests it can build clinical confidence, improve patient safety, and help reduce burnout.
Sessions are held monthly via Teams for one hour, making them practical and sustainable to attend. Group supervision allows participants to draw on the collective knowledge and experience of colleagues. Individual supervision can also be arranged.
